Las Vegas Wedding Love Story
This Las Vegas Wedding love story started 7 years ago September 9th. They tied the knot on the same date as their 7 year anniversary. Lucky 7’s are always a great thing to see in Las Vegas weddings and this is one lucky couple.
They met each other on social media site Myspace and lived in different states at the time so meeting each other in person was a bit of a challenge. After they spent their first weekend together they in turn would fly to see each other every few weeks. After 3 months of back and forth Ashlee moved in with Drew and they’ve been together ever since.

~Is there a certain time in your relationship when you had that thought that ‘this was the person you were going to marry?’ Do you mind sharing this moment with us?
-I don’t remember there ever being a certain moment we knew we would get married, I think we have just always been the best of friends and when you have a relationship like that that’s full of so much love and understanding you can’t imagine not wanting to be that person forever.
~How did he propose? Is there a special thing or moment you remember most from the proposal?
-He put so much effort to make the proposal a surprise and special. We are both very simple easy going people and he knew I would want something private. He got my parents involved which was lovely and got them to to make it seem like they were taking us away for the weekend. We arrived at a amazing hotel in Sydney and when we stepped into our room that over looked the harbor there was candles, roses, lollies, chocolate and cupcakes everywhere (I’m abit of a sweet freak). He took my hand and picked up a cupcake which had the ring on top got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of cause then fire works started going off out the window Which was pure luck. He brought me a temporary ring and told me he had picked a diamond for me and the next day I could go design my own ring which was an amazing idea! Then he took my parents and I to an amazing dinner on the harbor after.
Can you tell us a little bit about this gorgeous ring?
-Drew knew I always liked marquise diamonds so before he proposed he went to Mark at MVS jewelers and picked a beautiful marquise which is in the center of my ring. It is all platinum with 4 stones around the center stone and filigree patterns around the sides.
When it came to me designing it I wanted something that looked a bit vintage and classic. I had a cheap old ring I use to wear that had a filigree design with stones around the sides that I loved so I took that to the jeweler and after lots of playing with sketches finally got the perfect one. A couple months later it was done and was worth the wait. It is amazing I couldn’t be more happier.
The hard part then was figuring out a wedding band that fitted the unique shape of the ring I ended up going with cuff that fits each side with a sapphire. It worked at perfect and finished the ring off lovely.
~Your dress is amazing. How many did you try on before you found the one? Where did you get your dress and is their a specific designer?
-My dress is from Abbey bridal in Sydney and is by a Australian designer Maggie Sottero. Her shop was the first and only I went to. After looking on line there were many of her dresses I loved. I always said I wanted a long sleeve lace dress which are quite hard to come by. I knew she had one in her range so at my appointment I tried on around 5 other dresses before the long sleeve one I had in mind but I knew that was the one. I felt the most comfortable in that one and it was what I always wanted AND it was on sale so I thought it was pretty meant to be.
~When looking for that special location to marry, what made you choose Las Vegas and Caesars Palace Wedding Chapels?
-We never really thought we would get married over seas but after having our engagement party at home it was quite full on and a little stressful so I think that night we said to each other lets do something fun and stress free for our wedding. We had been to Vegas a few times before and we always had so much fun so why not get married there. Out of all the venues we looked at Caesars Juno garden just stood out and we liked what the wedding packages offered. It was the perfect choice for us the decor of Caesars even seemed to match our style even tho we didn’t really plan it that way.
~What do you remember most about your wedding day? Is there a particular moment during the day either alone or together that was most memorable?
-I was so calm all day up to the moment Lindsey our wedding coordinator said to me, okay you can walk down now and I looked at my dad and said ‘oh shit dad I’m going to cry’ and I did. Then when I looked up and saw Drew, it turned into a cry/ laugh and I was just really happy and excited in that moment. It’s a nice feeling knowing you are so confident in making the commitment to share your life with someone.
~How was your overall experience with Imagine Studios and Caesars Palace Chapels? Is there a special moment during your photography session that you’d like to share?
-Our experience was at Caesars was wonderful. Everything went so smoothly and we didn’t need to think to hard about anything which was just what we wanted. Everyone involved were helpful, friendly and comforting.
-Our photographer was lovely she ask me before if there was anything I wanted with the photos, I asked to keep them natural and not to poesy which she did. She made sure she got all combinations of shots with family and friends as well.
~Do you have any advice you would give newly engaged couples?
-I think when it comes to planning your wedding you need to do what’s right for the both of you.
If you are planning over the internet you have to be easy going. Try to keep it stress free and light hearted.
